CVRD backs down from 19% tax increase after protest

The board voted to reduce the increase to 16% by cutting the money allocated for park acquisition. Backlash from taxpayers convinced most of the Cowichan Valley Regional District board to scuttle plans to raise annual taxes by 19%.
